CNC Maintenance Technician Job Overview

A LOCAL, thriving, Milwaukee-area company is looking for an experienced CNC machinist-turned CNC mechanic to keep their equipment up and running. CNC Maintenance Technician Responsibilities


  • Actively participate as part of the maintenance team to increase facility runtime.
  • Support daily production requirements to maintain machinery and ensure continuous part supply.
  • Execute work orders and perform root cause analysis.
  • Improve equipment and troubleshoot/repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform and assist with weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions and corrective actions to oncoming shifts and department supervisors.
  • Work safely to keep the team incident-free.
  • Other duties as needed.

CNC Maintenance Technician Qualifications & Skills


  • 2-5 years CNC Machining and high machine maintenance aptitude
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance.
  • Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology is a plus.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: blueprint reading, welding, torching fabrication, gears, transmissions, and belts.
  • Machining knowledge, Basic Fanuc and Mazatrol knowledge, seals and bearings, shaft alignment, lubrication technology and application, CNC machining knowledge, and overhead cranes.
  • Electrical Knowledge: ladder diagrams, electrical components such as relays and limit switches, basic wiring, motors, drives, and power supplies.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems troubleshooting and component knowledge: blueprint reading, valves and pumps, cylinders, and seals.
