Description: Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide HR support to Director and/or Manager of Human Resources in the assigned division(s). Assists in the recruiting effort to assure Marinette Marine accesses, attracts, and successfully places highly competent and successful candidates. Leads assigned projects with management oversight. Lead the delivery of HR functional support to their assigned division(s) as an employee advocate, functional expert and business driver. The HR Generalist will have the opportunity to work within the full scope of generalist activity: policy administration, recruitment, labor relations, performance management, regulatory & legal compliance and employee training & development in a collaborative, team based environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manages recruiting for assigned hourly, non-exempt, and temporary positions. Posts jobs to build candidate pool, reviews resumes, interviews candidates, and creates final approved offers.
- Prepares reports, presentations, business communications, data summaries, and other documents of both a recurring and non-recurring nature. Performs moderately complex analyses of data to draw inferences or conclusions.
- Takes a lead role in employee relations gathers data, conducts investigations, reports findings, etc.
- Develop and institute HR best practices of the department's policy, procedures, and processes.
- Supports inquiries related to benefits, retirement, compensation, etc.
- Leads routine HR projects including communications, conducting meetings, tracking results, reporting, and KPI reporting. Leads improvement initiatives at the business unit level.
- Policy Management: including administering/interpreting company policies and assisting the HR Manager in employment issues, labor law and employment law compliance related investigations and hearings.
- Employee Training & Development: conducting new employee orientation sessions and other HR related management development training sessions. Assist HR Manager/ Director with training delivery and training needs assessment. Oversees Performance Management and assists Senior Leaders at the business unit on the program.
- Oversees contract labor program, to include quota management, labor levels and rates, and interaction with vendors.
- Systems: utilization of the various ADP and SAP modules and analyze HR metrics identifying key trends and the ability to recommend improvements.
- Investigate, write reports and bring to conclusion employee complaints and associated issues.
- Assist departmental leadership with disciplinary actions, when required.
- Routinely audits Company employee files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Direct Supervision. Oversight/support of administrative staff may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field is required with 2+ years' experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist role. This requirement can be met with an Associate's degree in a related filed and 4+ years of experience.
- Proficient in MS Office suites and with an applicant tracking system.
- Must possess exceptional drive and motivation to achieve and surpass hiring goals.
- Must have knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, talent acquisition and staffing practices, affirmative action plans, and practical application of employment law are essential to this position.
- Experience in a human resources role. Recruiting, interviewing, selection experience a strong plus. Experience in employee relations, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and other general employment laws preferred.
