Job description

Description

  • Cost Analysis and Estimation: Evaluate project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and overhead.

  • Bid Preparation: Develop and submit competitive bids or proposals for construction projects, including pricing strategies and terms.

  • Quantity Takeoff: Accurately measure and quantify materials and labor requirements from project drawings and specifications.

  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best value and accuracy in the estimate.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in the project scope and budget, and incorporate contingencies into the estimate.

  • Budget Management: Track and manage project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to the initial estimates and adjust as necessary.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that estimates align with project goals.

Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in Estimating
  • Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical.
  • Working knowledge of construction technology and details. Candidate must be extremely proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings
  • Excellent communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients.
