Job description

The C-26 Metroliner Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft. (Level of Mechanic is based on years of specific C-26 hands-on A&P mechanic experience). A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required. Union CBA Site, provides 3 levels of A&P experience, based on years of specific aircraft experience on the C-26 Metroliner (MDS) Mission Design Series aircraft assigned. US Citizenship is required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility. Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751. Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract. Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software. Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary. Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment. Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required. Union CBA Site, provides 3 levels of A&P experience, based on years of specific aircraft experience on the C-26 Metroliner (MDS) Mission Design Series aircraft assigned. AM-1 Requires - Two (2) Years A&P experience is required, with two (2) or more years of specific C-26 Metroliner hands-on being preferred. AM-2 Requires - Five (5) years of C-26 Metroliner hands-on A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required. AM-3 Requires - Ten (10) years of A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of C-26 Metroliner specific aircraft experience required. Valid Driver's License is required. Mechanic Tools are Required. Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox, Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID. Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA contract. (Currently Mon-Fri 40 hours a week). Candidates must be willing and able to deploy to site OCONUS locations if required due to operational requirements, (will be based on Union seniority). Must be able to obtain a Valid US Passport. Security Clearance Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility. Preferred /Physical Qualifications Be physically able to deploy to overseas locations. Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties. Ability to move freely about the interior of aircraft and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit. Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time. Pull, push, lift to 50 lbs. Able to pass physical medical examination as required. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
