Welcome to Allied Cooperative! We are hiring a Director of Credit to be based out of either our Marshfield, Hixton, or Adams Wisconsin locations. In this role you will direct and coordinate all credit activities such as investigations, collections, audits, support selling of co-op loan products, and other financial duties.

Primary Objectives of Position:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of workers engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers.
  • Enhance and support overall selling of co-op loan products through professional and courteous interaction with both customer and employee.
  • Create value and yield loan commitments and customer loyalty.
  • Adhere to and not deviate from the credit policy set by the company.

Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Assigns workers responsibility for investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications.
  • Establishes credit limitations on customer accounts and handles special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment.
  • Manages existing loan accounts, monitoring the financial condition of accounts in relation to acceptable risk.
  • Interviews loan applicants to develop information concerning their business, needs, desires, and abilities and earnings.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds sales goals as set by CEO.
  • Assigns responsibility for investigation of fraud cases and possible legal action and collection of worthless checks and delinquent bills.
  • Establishes and updates customer s credit activities.
  • Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
  • Audits delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account.
  • Coordinates with others, including personnel in company branches and credit card companies, to exchange information and update controls.
  • Submits delinquent account to attorney or outside agency for collection.
  • Compiles and analyzes statistical data on fraudulent use of credit cards to develop procedures designed to deter or prevent future abuses.
  • Supervises employees in the credit department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraisal performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have Associate s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to delegate responsibilities, exhibit leadership, and manage people.
  • Must understand good business practices such as implications of decisions, quality management, cost savings measures, diversity, ethics, and organizational support.
  • Have good written and oral communication skills, math, and computer skills.
  • Conduct oneself with professionalism, be adaptable, punctual, dependable. Show initiative and innovation.
  • Observe safety and security procedures.
