DIRECTOR-ACUTE CARE

The Acute Care (AC) Department currently has a management position available for a licensed registered nurse (RN) to fulfill management duties and oversee coordination of the daily operations of this department at Roane General Hospital (RGH). While providing direct clinical support for patient care, this applicant will oversee staff recruitment, retention, and scheduling of clinical staff. Minimal education requirements include an Associate's Degree in Nursing with 2 years of clinical leadership experience. Candidates possessing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in addition to the above clinical experience also encouraged to apply. Prospective candidates must be licensed in the state of West Virginia (WV) and possess the following certifications: CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent. Additional certifications are not required but are encouraged and will be considered upon interview. Roane General Hospital is a critical access facility designated as a Level IV Trauma Center in the state of WV. The facility is Joint Commission (JC) accredited and currently seeking Always Ready for Kids (ARK) designation in the state as well. Applicants must be project oriented, possess a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a strong desire to focus upon customer service. Candidates must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills and be able to interact with other members of the healthcare team at RGH. Responsibilities:

Oversight of staffing for the Acute Care Department which includes:

22 patient beds inpatient, postoperative, pediatric, and swing beds

Establishing and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Reviewing care processes and implementing performance improvement changes during patient care.

Auditing charts and reporting performance improvement data.

Assisting with continued employee competence and ongoing education.

Conducting staff meetings.
