Job description

TMC is in search of a Data Governance Lead to establish the first-ever enterprise Data Management Program for the client in order to pursue data modernization over time. Over the duration of the program, the team will execute a data governance maturity assessment and processes, establish and mature enterprise data governance capabilities, establish standard and consistent engagement and communication with key stakeholders, develop data governance framework and implementation roadmap, as well as co-create a new organizational design for a data governance board. The ideal candidate will have experience or deep interest in with data strategy, data management, governance and development of strategic planning/governance/management products. The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable with working with executive clients. Additionally, due to federal contract requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of an active Top Secret clearance to start. The Data Governance Lead will have the following responsibilities: - Assist with standing up the CJIS Data Governance Board. Coordinate and schedule meetings of the data governance board, including data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders, to review progress, address challenges, and make decisions regarding data governance initiatives. - Prepare meeting agendas, distribute materials, and document meeting minutes to ensure that discussions, decisions, and action items are captured accurately. - Develop presentations and one-sheeters that clearly articulate roles, expectations, timelines, products, and outcomes in relation to the data governance plan creatively and concisely. - Work closely among the Data Services Value Stream team to identify owners, assign tasks, and action items, track progress, and follow up as needed. - Monitor, analyze, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to data governance, providing regular updates to stakeholders on progress and identifying areas for improvement. - Collaborate across the DSVS and data domains to align data governance efforts with organizational goals and objectives. - Ensure that the Data Governance Plan is maintained by monitoring updates to data governance documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. - Develop and conduct training sessions, brown bags, or workshops for data governance team members and other stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of data governance principles and practices. - Start and curate the Data Governance Teams channel with appropriate meeting minutes and trainings. - Develop and update process maps as needed. - Perform other support duties as needed for the DSVS Job Requirements US Citizen and active Top Secret clearance required Bachelor's degree preferred Proven experience in data modernization or data governance, combined with project management, coordination, meeting facilitation, or related roles required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
