Job description
As an SSD Paralegal your tasks and responsibilities are critical to the success of a client's Disability claim. You will support the SSD team by preparing applications and appeals from Initial Application to Federal District Court, communicating with clients, administrative and court staff, maintaining digital and physical files and helping our attorneys prepare for hearing. The SSD/I process is challenging for a client navigating a difficult chapter of their life. You must have a passion for advocacy which can include active listening skills, research and writing proficiency, and want to help create a pleasant workplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing attorney schedules to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
- Communicate with clients and SSA.
- Ensure all case deadlines are met, and case tasks are completed.
- Prepare and submit representation paperwork, applications, and appeals.
- Assist clients with completing work history reports, function reports, etc.
- Draft and send correspondence, forms, and other legal documents to clients and SSA.
- Request medical records and submit to SSA.
- Review medical records and prepare medical summaries.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
High School Diploma or GED required, college graduate with bachelor's degree preferred; 2+ years of Paralegal experience (SSD knowledge preferred). Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to talk. Listen and speak clearly on the phone and through written communications. Computer proficiency (MS-Office- Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadline, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions give, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be
substituted.

Wage: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.

Compensation details: 22-25 Hourly Wage
