Current Harborview ICU staff nurse (RN) positions are as follows:
(Critical care, ICU (intensive care units) opportunities).

8MB Flex Unit - 90% FTE Nights positions, currently open.
This is a 15-bed unit providing intensive and acute care for critically ill adult patients.
The multidisciplinary staff is highly collaborative and supportive, working together to achieve the best patient outcomes.
The 8MB Flex Unit is an integral part of Harborview's ability to adjust level of care with the fluctuating daily census.
The team that works in this space provides care based on the needs of the patient, which can be both intensive care and acute care in a given day.
Seeking experienced ICU RNs to join the awesome 8MB Flex Unit team.

Medical Cardiac ICU - 90% FTE Nights position currently open.
The Medical Cardiac ICU, (2EH), is a 17 bed unit providing acute care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients.
The MCICU works closely with the cardiac catheterization lab to assist in quick diagnosis and treatment of patients requiring percutaneous coronary intervention. The unit specializes in treating patients with therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest. The unit is the home base of Seattle's Medic One for treatment of patients who have suffered a heart attack. The staff has expert specialized training in ACLS, intra-aortic balloon pump, continuous renal replacement therapy, and transvenous pacemaker. The MCICU also provides care to critically-ill patients with conditions related to multi-system organ failure; gastrointestinal disease; blood infections/Sepsis; cancer; cardiac disease; lung disease; kidney disease; liver disease.

Trauma Surgical ICU - no positions currently open, but more could arise at any time.
The Trauma Surgical ICU at Harborview (9MB) is a 24 bed unit for patients with multi-system, traumatic injuries. Patient management presents challenges in respiratory, thoracic, vascular, neurologic and orthopedic care. Nurses are involved in a variety of innovative research projects. Nurses provide critical care management to multi-service adult patients. They care for patients ranging in a variety of medical/surgical diagnoses and trauma injuries; and are involved in a variety of unit-based and hospital-wide projects.

Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU - 90% FTE nights position currently open.
The Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU, (9EH), an 18 bed unit, is a broad-ranging, multi-specialty ICU (i.e. caring for adult burn, trauma, medical and neuro patients; and also caring for pediatric burn and trauma patients). The unit serves as the Regional Burn Center and Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center for the WAMI Region serving Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. Comprehensive care is provided to pediatric and adult patients with burn, plastic, trauma, neurosurgery, medical and neurologic injuries.
- UW burn center at HMC opened in 1974.
-Verified by the American Burn Association and American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
- The first site of a major clinical trial for artificial skin graft.
- Survival rate for the burn center is over 97%.

Neurosciences ICU - no positions currently open, but more could arise at any time.
The Neuroscience ICU, a 30 bed unit, (2WH) is a major referral unit for neurological surgery and neurology services. The Neuro ICU provides specialized intensive nursing care to patients with complex neurological deficits and injuries. The unit serves adult victims of severe head and spinal cord injury, diseases and disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves, and a growing elective neurosurgery population.

Critical Care Float Pool (may include STAT RN role). 90% Nights positions currently open.
(please note that Critical Care Float Pool RNs may float among the ICUs, as well as to the ED, and to PACU, and also potentially to acute care and ICU border areas as needed).
Note - Critical Care Float Pool positions require 3+ years ICU RN work experience.

Requires current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington (or obtain by employment start date).
For individual ICUs, requires minimum one year ICU nursing experience (two+ years desirable).
