Job description

Position Description: Essential duties include the locating and designing supports for various piping systems and performing associated calculations. Candidate should be familiar with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3. Position Responsibilities: Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress and other support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required. Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment. Requires ability to work in 3D model environment for extraction of 2D pipe support drawings. Basic Qualifications: Strong knowledge of AISC and ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry codes and standards Prior experience using structural analysis programs Grade education/experience included: • Grade 25 - BS degree with 6 years of related experience • Grade 26 - BS degree with 9 years of related experience. Minimum Qualifications: • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge) • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: • PE Registration • Prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs ME150 (FAPPS) or GT STRUDL • Prior experience using Pipe SupportModeler software • Previous DOD/DOE project experience
