Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties You will review blueprints, assess item/system to be repaired and determine the sequence or operations, plan the work, select material, method and machines to use. You will receive assignments, general instructions or work order from supervisor. You will have completed work spot checked by supervisor to ensure the work is accurate and meets quality standards. You will be required to comply with Tool Control Program, Personal Protective Equipment, Fall protection, Heavy Metals, etc. You will provide a Foreign Object Debris (FOD)-free, clean work area and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position requires near vision correctable 14" to Jaeger2 and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other. Must be able to distinguish colors and have depth perception. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Reviewing blueprints, assess item/system to be repaired and determine the sequence or operations, plan the work, select material, method and machines to use; 2) Recognizing various size bolts, screws, rivets and all fasteners associated with the aircraft trade; 3) Demonstrating knowledge to calculate irregular angles and curves, plan and layout work, and develop patterns and templates; 4) Exhibiting the skills to recognize the characteristics and properties of any metals used in the trade, e.g stainless steel, magnesium, honeycomb.
