Job description
Duties You will operate unique computer programs and will solve electronic problems, where past procedures may not apply due to the newness or uniqueness of design, approach or technology and new procedures developed. You will be responsible to maintain and improve technical competencies on assigned range systems, providing team leadership on more system operations. You will be required to provide technical assistance for specialized requirements of complex operations without compromising safety or environmental stewardship in the process. You will interpret engineering test plans, maintain technical competency, qualifications, and apply these skills on and off all ranges in order to achieve customer objectives in an efficient and timely manner. You will identify rapidly changing needs and conditions and make immediate, on-the-spot decisions as to how to effectively utilize range assets to best meet customer requirements. You will work and perform in a fast-paced, high stress environment while maintaining complete control of the myriad of systems supporting range operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. Position may require you to obtain a Government Motor Vehicle Operators permit for vehicles up to 5 tons and fork trucks up to 6000 pounds. Position may require you to be certified under the Explosives Safety Certification Program. Qualifications FOR: GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of electronic theories and methods to perform test, operation, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, electro-hydraulic, and/or acoustic systems. FOR: GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of electronic theories and methods to assist in test, operation, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, electro-hydraulic, and/or acoustic systems.
