Ship Repair Project Manager Job Summary

We are seeking a Ship Repair Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of ship repair projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong project management skills, deep knowledge of ship repair processes, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.

Ship Repair Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements for ship repair projects.
    • Coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment and efficient execution of project tasks.
    • Define project milestones, deliverables, and timelines, and manage the project lifecycle from start to finish.
  • Budget and Resource Management:

    • Prepare and manage project budgets, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
    • Monitor project expenditures, track costs, and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
    • Oversee the procurement and allocation of resources and materials required for repair projects.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:

    • Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Ensure all repair activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
    • Implement and oversee quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project.
    • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project to minimize disruptions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.

Ship Repair Project Manager Position Requirements

  • Strong background, skill, knowledge and experience in marine design and engineering and manufacturing methods commonly used in marine new construction and service work
  • Working knowledge of ship construction, repair, and conversion, including vessel types, systems, and components
  • Skilled in conflict management and moving stakeholders to realistic consensus while protecting needs of and relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of current rules, regulations, and standard practices of regulatory bodies, including USCG, classification societies and the marine industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Project

Pay Range from $110,000 - $135,000 per year
