Job description
Duties Performs rescue work, promptly renders CPR or emergency first aid and calls for medical assistance as necessary Supervises swimmers for safety and crowd control Enforces safety and pool regulations Promptly reports safety hazards to supervisor Responsible for the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds in the pool area Responsible for testing chemical levels Provides instruction to youth and adults in incremental swim lessons/lifeguarding/CPR courses May assist with scheduled pool parties, after hours of operation or with base wide special events Schedule includes evenings and weekends Other duties as assigned First review of applicants will be conducted 10/23/2024 Requirements Conditions of Employment Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation Qualifications Must be knowledgeable of emergency water safety procedures Performs housekeeping tasks for proper standards of cleanliness, free from hazards, sanitation and appearance of pool and related facilities Must pass annual swim test demonstrating ability to perform the work Ability to perform the full range of lifeguarding duties Knowledge of cash handling procedures Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation Must be at least 16 years old Must possess a valid lifeguarding certification from a recognized agency or obtain it within 30 days of hire Must be able to pass a 250 yard timed swim test Must be able to communicate orally and in writing Additional information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
