Our mission to change wound care and improve the lives of others isn't easy, but it's worth it! One in ten residents in a skilled nursing facility will develop a skin condition requiring expert medical care, and one in four patients will be discharged home with an open wound. We believe that every person deserves the very best skin and wound care. Building and leading skin and wound care teams is how we do it! Our skin and wound care providers bring education and encouragement to the people who take care of our patients 24/7. When they get better at their jobs, our patient's wounds heal faster and that is our goal!

What winning looks like:

Lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams
Travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls, in an assigned region
Provide the highest quality skin and wound care services to patients
Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies to assess change to patients' health care needs
Perform bedside wound care skills including: wound assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures
Track the progress of wound healing and document timely in UWH's own wound care EMR
Develop a treatment plan for skin and wound conditions based on the individual needs of each patient, and UWH's Clinical Practice Guidelines
Collaborate virtually with our medical leadership including board certified physicians and surgeons specializing in wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease
