Job description
Duties You will De-box and tray up semi-finished lens stock per base curve, lens style, manufacturer, and lens material and verifies to job work ticket. You will prepare lens for surfacing and blocking process, operates taping machinery (manual and automated) , to apply surface protection tape to front surface of lenses. You will operate surface blocker, verifies correct machine set-up according to base curve of lens and machine data matches job ticket. You will manually adjusts and centers lenses to precise alignment and operates blocker to adhere surface carrier to lens with alloy. You will operate automatic industrial generators that grind semi-finished lenses, verifies correct machine set up and machine data is correct to various specified calculations on job ticket. You will de-envelop and trays up finish lenses and ophthalmic frame stock according to job work order and lens prescription by sphere power, cylinder power and lens material You will use various automated lens analyzers to scope and mark lenses per prescription. You will operate semi-automated finish lens layout blocker to decenter lens blank as calculated for position; applies finish leap pad and block to front surface of lens for the edging process as required. Performance Level (FPL) and if determined to be Best Qualified at the FPL, and selected, must be placed at the FPL.
