Overview/ Job Responsibilities Sev1Tech is seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator familiar with large enterprise environments background to join us in providing superior IT solutioning, strategy, and managed services to federal customers in the Woodbridge VA area. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, passionate about technology and customer service, and has a history of providing best-in-class services surrounding Windows systems administration. Supporting a Managed Application Hosting program for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Windows Systems Administrator must have recent domain admin-level experience and will be part of an Infrastructure and Platform Operations team responsible for the following: Provide daily support of Windows server environment including on-premise and AWS cloud-based hosting environments in a 24/7/365 setting Troubleshoot complex hardware and OS problems, taking appropriate corrective action and/or interacting with IT staff, vendors, service providers or customers Administer configurations, access and permissions Maintain uptime, availability, and performance Perform routine maintenance, patching and upgrades as needed or required Migration of systems from older to newer generation-based systems Installation and configuration of new systems and environments Perform technical user training as needed Conduct periodic performance analysis and fine tune overall performance Perform capacity management and proactively propose appropriate remediation Monitor and remediate system backup issues Develop or maintain operational tools or scripts to automate the above activities Execute request fulfillment, incident management, change management and problem management in line with ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) concepts Fulfill requests and resolve incidents in accordance with the customer's contractual SLAs (Service Level Agreements) Provide on-call support and weekend maintenance duties as required Work with other cross-functional teams to provide seamless Service Delivery Participate in Operations and Service Delivery continuous improvement activities Create and review articles, how-to documents for the Operations Knowledge Base Other duties as assigned Local candidates only within commuting distance to Reston Data Center as needed and our Woodbridge VA office for occasional team meetings. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree. If no degree, will accept 4 yrs of related experience: 6-9-8 years of related experience in maintaining Windows Servers versions (2016 +) Experience deploying and managing server instances in the AWS cloud required Responsible for Active Directory domain replication, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and DFS Familiarity with Windows PowerShell and it's commands Proficient with requirements management & system modeling tools Recognizes various architectural patterns Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Operational support experience as part of a large team Experience with a recent ITSM tool (ticketing system, CMDB) such as ServiceNow and/or RemedyForce Must be security conscious Excellent communication and collaboration Proficient written and verbal communications skills Proficient ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle complex assignments Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction Proficient ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions Self-starter and aptitude to work independently in a fast paced continuously evolving environment Location: Remote Shifts: Normal Mon-Fri business hours with rotating on-call requirements ( 24 x 7 x 365 environment - daytime business hours with on call rotation every 3 weeks) Clearance: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 6.
