Job description

Matlock is looking for a Server Administrator to provide day-to-day system administration within a Windows Server and Linux environment, including application deployment and monitoring. Matlock prefers a candidate who can take on the responsible role of performing Cybersecurity Risk Management/Analysis as well as responding to customer technical assistance questions and troubleshooting; working as needed with the government customer support team, development staff, and external service providers to resolve user and system problems.
Server Responsibilities include:
• General technical oversight, Technical subject matter expertise, Assistance in technical security strategy, Uphold standards, and best practices for multiple programs with various security categorizations (low, moderate and high) • Installation, Configuration, Maintenance, Security and reliable operations of Enterprise level server, appliances, storage systems and peripherals • Management and monitoring of all server systems in a government cloud environment
• Familiarity with access control systems, video management software and intelligent data infrastructure and unified storage solutions
• Resolve hardware / software interface and interoperability issues and ensures server functionality, integrity and efficiency
• Assist in the implementation solutions to complex technical problems, system administration issues, or network concerns
• Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with NIST and DISA standards and maintain system configurations
• Ensures vendor support contracts are maintained
• Assist the Sr Systems Administrators, Network Administrators and Cyber Security Team in the management of all systems infrastructure as needed
• Other Duties as required
Preferred Cybersecurity Responsibilities include:
• Knowledge of NIST 800-171 and 800-53
• Familiarity with protecting controlled information in Federal and Non-Federal systems and organizations
• Familiarity with Enterprise Cyber Risk and Security Platforms
• Knowledge and expertise in a myriad of Information Security Solutions across endpoint network and cloud security
• Knowledge of Server and Network security systems development, architectures and traffic analysis
• Report on security status/incidents and conduct Security Authorization document review
• Assist with review and development of required standard operating procedures to maintain compliance
• Reviews, updates and develops all required security documentation
• Other Duties as required
Server Required Qualifications:
• Relevant degree or certifications considered in lieu of experience
• 3+ years' experience in Server Administration
• Knowledge of Office 365
• Professional customer service skills
• Flexible, detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, and communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage tasks
• Experience with Federal or Government contracts is a plus
2+ years of relevant working experience with NIST, Cyber/Info Security will result in greater competitive offerings as a Cyber and Server Candidate. References will be required to substantiate working knowledge and understanding of NIST requirements at the Government Level for Cyber/Info Security Skills.
