This position opening is to be located at our Winchester, VA location.

The overall duties of a Hauling Manager Include:

  • Plan, organize, and manage hauling staff to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
  • Read erection drawings to store finished pieces in correct location based on length and width.
  • Update tracking spreadsheet to determine yard space.
  • Coordinate with Tool Room to unload materials with Mi-Jack upon arrival at plant.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
  • Arrange repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
  • Comply with transportation-related regulations, as well as safety rules and government regulations.
  • Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
  • Stay up to date on all safety regulations.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with eligible third-party DOT drivers.
  • Ensure all drivers have correct and up to date qualifications.
  • Maintain and complete accurate records.
  • Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Housekeeping as needed to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

Education and Technology:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous transportation experience preferred
