Job description
Radiologic Technologist
GoWell Urgent Care is looking for a self-motivated, reliable, outgoing individual to join our clinical care team.
The ideal applicant will have excellent computer and telephone skills; Athena EMR experience is a plus!
Overview:
The Radiology Technologist performs radiologic exams following established procedures for patient care and safety. He or she performs all the duties related to proper film identification, storage, and reporting functions. When not actively taking x-rays, the ideal candidate may be asked to perform basic clinical, administrative and housekeeping duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Prepares patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into a specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Takes X-Rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures, developing radiographs, observing radiographic results, and making necessary adjustments.
Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
Ensures equipment is in working order by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
Performs basic nursing duties to ensure good patient flow.
Take and record a patient's height and weight, vitals including blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation. On-site training provided.
Conduct visual acuity testing, urine dipstick, rapid strep, throat culture and wound culture. On-site training provided.
Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media; and administering first aid and using the emergency cart.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
Valid state Radiologic Technologist license
Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Clean background check and clean drug screen
Knowledge of X-Ray procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-Ray testing including body mechanics and movement.
Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, bending.
Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.
Occasional stress in working with tense patients.
Proficient computer knowledge.
Up-to-date on annual radiation protection in-services and provide documentation
Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader.
Spanish speaking is desirable but not required.

Our clinic offers prompt, personal medical services on a walk-in basis, seven days per week
We are open 7 days a week, 8a - 8p, 365 days a year
We can accommodate a variety of schedules and offer a great amount of flexibility
We offer lab and x-ray services on location
Status: Part-time/PRN positions available
Pay: $33 - $40/hr
