Technical Writer Your Impact:
We are hiring for a Technical Writer to join our team in Warrenton, VA. The mission of the Lone Wolf Team is to support, operate, and maintain the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES). The DCIN-TS ES is a DoD provided, TS/SCI, integrated voice, video, and data, global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. Candidates are expected to have a strong work ethic and possess the ability to work as a critical member of a team in pursuit of mission objectives and in support of our customers. We value candidates who are detail-oriented while also being able to think and react quickly to emerging and unique problem sets. To be successful in this role, you'll be able to rapidly adapt and learn how to operate the front and back end of new products and processes. The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Writer include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop and maintain technical documentation for system tradecraft methodologies to include operations documentation, user guides, technical publications, briefings, reports, and training materials. Interpret engineering, maintenance drawings, and operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of system-related information. Work on all phases of technical documentation to ensure products are accurate, complete, consistent, meet editorial and government specifications, contain appropriate security classification markings, and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style. Coordinate with technical personnel and subject matter experts to document key elements of operational functionality, including overviews, processes/workflows, requirements, etc. to ensure delivery of quality documentation and training materials. Review and edit documents for grammar, format, and clarity prior to program management approval. Review and edit procedures related to standard IT workflows. Aid in the development of accreditation documentation, if required. Maintain and suggest improvements to the current internal documentation library. Maintain the program's document tracking spreadsheet on status of contract deliverables. Here's what you'll need:
• Must have active Top Secret clearance with SCI • 5 years of relevant experience • Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint • Ability to work independently and under the direction of the Principal Technical Writer • Ability to work predominately on the customer site during a 40-hour work week Preferred but not required: • Experience applying security classifications to written products • Experience with policy, IT, and engineering technical writing • Experience using screen capture/screen recording tools such as Snagit or Snip & Sketch • Experience with Visio • Experience coordinating between cross-functional teams
