Overview:
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
Extensive experience in construction management and leading contracts for construction engineering and inspection on road and bridge projects. Evidence of progressive career development and demonstrated expertise in leading projects or programs with a diverse team. Experience managing contracts with VDOT and localities required. Experience working with other heavy civil, rail or airport clients in Northern Virginia such as WMATA or MWAA is positive.
Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES:
For the Northern Virginia area within the Service Line, provides senior leadership and oversight of the delivery of MBP Services. Responsible for business development, proposal development and contracting. Also responsible for identifying recruiting needs and coordinating recruiting efforts with Group Managers. Prepares, monitors, and manages budgets and forecasts, schedules, and other management level tools for the Service Line. Responsible for identifying and standardizing processes, tools and technology needed to deliver MBP Services. Active involvement in strategic planning and corporate initiatives.
OTHER DUTIES:
Attends professional conferences and is engaged and active in professional associations. Maintains registrations and certifications.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:
B.S. in industry-related field, advanced degree preferred. Professional engineer registration in Virginia, or ability to obtain within 6 months, required. CCM preferred. Detailed knowledge of construction, principles of construction management, and project controls, with specialized knowledge in VDOT construction management and administration required. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in project management techniques including budgeting, leadership, training, and business development.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Expertise in construction engineering and inspection services and in implementing or managing these services. Provides strategic approach to projects, programs, service delivery, marketing, and business development opportunities. Manages major contracts and initiatives and is capable of managing complex teams and multiple assignments. Able to take multiple projects and initiatives from conception to completion while keeping overall objectives in perspective.
GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY:
Capable of managing clients, diverse teams, and has an ability to organize and manage various aspects of MBP's operations. Receives strategic guidance on overall objectives. Overall responsibility for a distinct market sector, geographic sector, or sub-service within the Service Line, including quality assurance and profitability. Receives guidance from and reports to the Service Line Leader.
SUPERVISORY:
Ability to supervise large and/or multiple teams, and independently perform strategic, analytical and management tasks.
