Job Description BAE's Modeling & Simulation Solutions (M&SS) business area is seeking a Wargaming Solutions Architect to lead our wargaming capabilities practice area in the development of requirements, customer engagement on requirement, industry outreach and thought leadership. Serving as a product manager for our wargaming solutions, collaborating across the company including our commercial product management teams, the role will serve as the single threaded owner of our roadmap and representative of the wargaming and war planning offerings of the business. The portfolio management responsibility includes development of roadmaps, management of requirements, gap analysis and trade studies as well as establishment of materials and messaging shaping our capabilities into customer environments. A key focus will be to identify the key components required to model the future battlefields, while ensuring our portfolio is best prepared to address the dimensions to be simulated incorporating kinetic as well as irregular, cyber, information and electronic warfare. The role reports into the Vice President/General Manager of M&SS and will require close collaboration to ensure operations align to strategic vision with business development, growth and line organizations. The role will serve as the coordination agent for Subject Matter Expertise on wargaming and war planning capabilities with sector partners as well as coordinate product management alignment with our commercial Product Managers. The role will provide direct engagement with customers delivering key expertise within existing programs, serve in shaping and response development of key opportunities while establishing a clear technical growth path of the system of system wargaming capabilities being offered by the business. The role is based out of Sterling, Virginia. Responsibilities: Deliver key subject matter expertise to programs taking on key strategic deliverables to provide thought leadership, customer affinity and direct engagement with requirements for M&SS wargaming capabilities.
Service as subject matter expert and lead technical role in developing solutions for top M&SS opportunity pursuits.
Establish wargaming capabilities content, engaging with marketing and communications teams to advance our industry thought leadership.
Own the wargaming requirements gathering, framework and roadmap serving as the central coordinator with customers & customer facing teams, internal engineering teams, program engagement operating with our commercial Product Managers.
Develop a cohort of wargaming specialists across the business engaging in technical, solution and demonstration activities increasing our breadth of talent ready for engagement with senior military on solutions application to key military challenges.
Develop realistic scenarios for our wargaming, war planning and synthetic training systems for customer demonstrations and program deliverables.
Partner with Chief Engineer and CTO organizations to ensure capabilities awareness and insertion into key programs, opportunities and investments.
Lead inclusively in order to cultivate a caring culture that promotes belonging, all-around well-being, and equity as well as inspires teamwork and personal excellence in alignment with the BAE Systems behaviors and cultural principles.
Demonstrate a leading role in promoting adherence to the company's ethical standards and business practices and provide for good stewardship of the assets of the business.
Deliver updates on efforts and strategic direction during key business reviews. Required Education, Experience, & Skills A minimum of 15 years of experience serving in military leadership and technical roles related to military planning and wargaming.
An advanced degree, Masters or PhD in a related field. Respective Military Studies degrees directly applicable.
Demonstrated industry thought leadership and engagement beyond the roles served relevant to the subject matter.
Technical Skills in military wargaming sufficient to design realistic scenarios for simulation and engage with customers regarding challenges and requirements addressing un-addressed components of existing offerings.
Leadership skills in matrixed functional and program teams responsible for development of assessments, strategy and leading teams to achieve key transformational outcomes.
Strong technical acumen and experience demonstrating the ability to integrate doctrinal processes, new technologies and answer strategic assessments resulting in accepted decisions.
Demonstrated ability to partner multiple organizations across government and industry to establish working groups addressing key strategic problems.
Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to achieve results through others and a focus on inclusive leadership.
Skilled communicator with experience shaping and influencing the image of a complex business. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $164000 - $278800 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
