We provide Subject Matter Experts (SME) free of Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) focused on independent analysis and mission support services within the disciplines of Engineering, Counter Terrorism Operations, Management, Information Technology, Signals Analysis, Administration, Cyber Security and Linguistics. FTS has an opportunity for a Mission Protection Engineer in Springfield, VA. The Mission Protection Engineer provides systems engineering and technical advisory services. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise on space protection and space situational awareness Provide technical leadership for coordinating MOD mission protection requirements and space protection doctrine Collaborate with SETA team members, development contractors, and customer forums Effectively communicate and interface with engineers from various contractors and government organizations; prepare and present briefings to customer on technical topics when requested Understand NRO organization and subordinate Directorates and Offices Understand and operate in a dynamic, multi-organizational environment Provide Systems Engineering and Integration of Mission Protections new programs Required Skills/Qualifications TS/SCI with polygraph BS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline 13+ years' relevant experience Knowledge of satellite GEOINT and SIGINT constellation, spacecraft orbit, and ground terminal characteristics Orbital mechanics experience (i.e. preferably knowledgeable with tools like System Toolkit (STK) or SOAP) Strong knowledge of system engineering fundamentals.
