Job description

Overview :
Our client is one of the leading utility companies in the Washington, DC Metro area. They have an immediate need for a talented and experienced Test Automation Architect to work REMOTE, spearheading the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge automated testing frameworks and strategies. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in software engineering and automation tools, paired with a strong ability to analyze and enhance testing processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our software testing practices.

Responsibilities :
Create and maintain robust automation frameworks and tools to support our continuous integration and delivery pipeline.

Assess current processes to pinpoint areas where automation can drive improvements and efficiencies.

Craft comprehensive and well-structured test plans and cases to ensure thorough testing coverage.

Partner with development, QA, and operations teams to seamlessly integrate automation processes into our workflows.

Oversee and refine automation systems to minimize manual intervention and boost overall efficiency.

Explore and leverage emerging technologies to enhance our automation capabilities.

Educate and mentor team members on best practices and effective use of automation tools.

Ensure all testing procedures are meticulously documented to support reproducibility and adherence to standards.

Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of demonstrated experience in a test automation role with a solid grasp of software development and testing methodologies.

Expertise in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit), scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity). Proficient in Azure Portal and Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Artifacts, Repos).

Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to working within a team.

Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, PMP, or AWS are advantageous.
