Job description

Epsilon Systems has a current job opening for a full time Scheduler III in Portsmouth, VA. Summary: Develops detailed schedules and production plans for proposals utilizing issued drawings and work specifications. Coordinates with Production, Quality Assurance, and other applicable departments to achieve optimum utilization of resources in meeting schedules. Provides input to management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes, backlogs and the like. Maintains all appropriate paperwork. Duties and Responsibilities: Reviews engineering plans, blueprints, and product specifications to determine material requirements in support of repair, fabrication, and/or modernization projects.
Considers all specified references including applicable NAVSEA Standard Items in the formulation of estimates/schedules.
Develops detailed POA&M meeting 9090-310 (current rev) requirements
Performs a wide variety of complex planning activities required to attain awarded projects and to meet production objectives.
Works with Trade Foreman and other personnel to formulate estimates/schedules.
Estimates/schedules the labor requirements by trade based on engineering plans and product specifications to determine resource requirements in support of repair, fabrication, and/or modernization projects.
Factors in QA and Project Management requirements in the labor estimates/schedules.
Provides schedules in the format required by the Estimating manager.
Receives and controls government drawings.
Requirements: High school diploma/equivalent.
5 years' experience in proposal planning.
Must be proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Project.
Must have working knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models to extract material requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
Experience with submarine/SUBSAFE projects and repair availabilities
Familiarity with US Navy ships/terminology.
ADA Notations: Frequent sitting, standing, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
