POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Engineering Technician IV will play a critical role in supporting the C5ISC-ESD-RFCB with design, development, procurement, test, evaluation, and other services associated with short- and long-range radio systems (e.g., Medium Frequency (MF), High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Commercial Satellite (COMSAT), Military Satellite (MILSAT) and terrestrial radio communications systems) to meet established, enterprise-wide requirements. This position can be located anywhere in the US, but must be able to travel ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs engineering, design, maintenance, and installation of telecommunications systems and electronic systems Perform repairs, maintenance, or installation of at least four different electronic equipment and systems including MF, HF, VHF, UHF and SATCOM Communication Systems (including high and low power); US/NATO Secure Voice Systems; Radar Systems; Navigation Systems, SINS and NAVTEX and NAVDAT transmitters, telephone systems, IP-PBX Key Systems; and RADHAZ/EMI control measures Develops or reviews designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data Develops or reviews engineering drawings to provide red-line corrections for "as built" configurations. Applies conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists to the Government Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures; sets up and operates equipment; records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity; and analyzes data and prepares test reports. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in engineering technology or completion of USCG or DOD Technical "A" School. Minimum six (6) years of experience in maintenance and installation of DOD or USCG Command, Control, and Communication Systems Comprehensive knowledge of USCG / DOD military specifications and standards Ability to travel Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
