Job description

Duties As a CURRENT OPERATIONS ANALYST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as principle advisor specialist on all readiness and deployment activities related to assigned forces. Maintains the JECC Common Operations Picture and force lay-down. Performs ongoing production-oriented work within the JECC, including preparing and publishing mission orders. Prepares and presents high-level, recurring briefings and reports involving current and future operations activities. Updates and operates the Command Mass Notification and Recall system. Coordinates deployment and redeployment notification sequence and ensures personnel and resources are synchronized to facilitate rapid deployment. Provides technical advise to managers at JECC headquarters and its subordinate elements on policies and procedures for unit readiness reporting and tracking. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or a designated alternate, must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606 Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Working in current operations programs in order to prepare planning guidance, identify issues affecting current operations execution, and to develop and implement sound and viable strategies to mitigate those issues. Preparing and presenting high-level, recurring briefings and reports involving current and future operations activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
