THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES: All Points is seeking a Cleared Sr Network Engineer SME to support the DISA J6 Network Engineering Team in Hampton Roads. Assists the existing Government civilians for the engineering baseline, planning, modernization, design, development, integration and testing of incremental changes or network modernizations to the DISA J6 HR Enclaves within the DISA J6 HR Enterprise communications network. Additionally, serves as the Tier IV escalation point to resolve issues on the DISA J6 HR Enterprise communications network.
Job Description: Perform daily technical engineering, network analysis, and network infrastructure technical security review studies to ensure continued compliancy with DoD mandates and redundant service capabilities are available in order to reduce single points of failure and communications faults. Audit, create, update, standardize, harden, and deploy network configurations using DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for the customer's network devices. Possess strong written and verbal communication to prepare and present documentation for network changes and upgrades to configuration review and approval boards. Prepare After Action Report (AAR) as required by Government for outages affecting 15 or more users. Analyze traffic using SPAN/RSPAN, Wireshark, and on-device capturing tools and present findings to teammates and the customer. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot data center switches and infrastructure in conjunction with the customer's Platform Services team. Create and maintain documentation including, but not limited to, network diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), Consolidated Design Document and Operations Guides (CDDOGs), engineering implementation plans (EIPs), and configuration templates. Focal point for Tier 3 support and work with vendors when Tier 4 support troubleshooting, integration, and monitoring of the network's communications infrastructure. Direct, guide, and train junior network engineers as needed to maintain operational readiness. Work 9 am - 5 pm ON SITE Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid location between Norfolk and Suffolk. Must be able to work occasional nights/weekends on an as needed basis to facilitate software upgrades and hardware installs. Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of network operations to configure, operate, maintain update, and troubleshoot VPNs, Cisco Network devices, OSPF, BGP and VRF-lite within a DOD environment. In addition to RSA Authentication Manager, F5 Load Balancers and Cisco ISE for network device AAA using TACACS+ and endpoints AAA using RADIUS. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or 8 years of equivalent experience/combined education, certification. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 4 - 8 Years SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS: Active US DoD Secret Clearance or higher Cisco CCNP CompTIA Security +CE or ISC2 CISSP Access control lists for management, data, and voice VLANs.
