We are searching for a self-motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) independent contractor, with our shared values, to become a part of our team! The independent contractor's responsibilities include completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision. You should also complete and file your tax returns in a timely manner. You will provide routine healthcare in a patient's home.

To ensure success as an independent contractor, you should possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ultimately, an outstanding Independent Contractor will produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Summary Responsibilities

The LPN Contractor will administer nursing care to ill, injured and/or disabled patients. These activities directed by the patient's Plan of Care. The ideal person for this position has the experience, compassion, and a solid understanding of all aspects of patient home health care.

Responsibilities:

Nursing activities - Accurately execute the Plan of Care ensuring patients' safety and well-being are being met through nursing activities. Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the treating physician. Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family member. Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention.
Apply compliance knowledge - Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of patient care by using a sensitive approach. Establishes a trusting relationship with the patient and family while maintaining confidentiality. Communicate with Case Manager on collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care. Maintain accurate patient logging. Prepare and provide clinical notes/charting to clients' case manager on patient's overall progress. Knowledge and compliance of all state patients' rights is required.

Requirements:

Current State Nursing License in good standing
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
CPR Certification
Complete minimum state-mandated training hours, if applicable
Safe driving record with reliable transportation and car insurance
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be free from health problems that may be injurious to client, self and/or other caregivers and must present appropriate evidence to substantiate health status
Working knowledge of client-based medical software and equipment
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Malpractice Insurance required
