As our Meetings & Convention Operations Manager, you will play a key role in organizing major events that ranging from intimate gatherings of a dozen participants to a large-scale convention of 22,000 people! This is your chance to lead, innovate, and elevate our conventions and expositions to new heights.

This position is full-time and requires you to be onsite Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. We offer a supportive and healthy work culture, competitive salary, and excellent benefits. Duties require some travel, comprising up to 15% of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of planning, organizing, and executing logistics for major events assigned, to include room setups, food & beverage, A/V, signage, education coordination, sponsorships and ADA accessibility. Ensure all necessary equipment, products, and services are secured.
  • Lead the coordination of ATAE Meetings and Events, managing everything from hotel arrangements and A/V needs to offsite logistics and event contracting.
  • Review all vendor contracts for associated meetings and coordinate negotiations. Track budget for each vendor associated with event.
  • Serve as the key onsite contact for responsible events, handling real-time logistics and problem-solving to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with top industry figures, including ATD and ATAE leaders, VIPs, NADA Staff, and vendors.
  • Create and manage project timelines, maintain thorough documentation, and ensure that every aspect of event planning is executed.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a comparable amount of relevant training or experience is required. A CMP designation is preferred, or a willingness to pursue one.
  • Minimum 5-7 years five to seven years of convention, event, trade show and/or meeting planning experience required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; experience with Map Your Show, Envision, and Airtable is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple short-term and long-term projects, and effectively follow through on assignments while balancing competing demands.
  • Able to work well with others, handle confidential information, and manage multiple tasks.
