Job description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Product Management to lead our cybersecurity product strategy, definition, and market analysis. As the Director of Product Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, strategy, and requirements of our products. This position requires a proven track record in product management in the cybersecurity software market. The work location is in McLean, Virginia, and offers the flexibility of remote work on Fridays.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Vision
Develop and articulate a compelling product vision aligned with the company's overall strategy and market realities.
Drive the short and long-term product roadmap, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer feedback, and technological advancements.
Seamlessly switch from strategic considerations to tactical execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Experience in a startup environment bringing an emerging product to market
as part of a cross-functional team in a rapid growth environment.
Lead and inspire across the company, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Facilitate communication and coordination between engineering, design, marketing, sales, support, and other relevant teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated product development process.
Market Analysis
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in cybersecurity.
Conduct market research to identify opportunities and competitive threats, informing product strategy, features, and positioning.
Product Delivery
Work with Engineering management on the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, ensuring products are delivered on time and within scope.
Operate comfortably in ambiguous environments while maintaining a strong bias for action by balancing between attention to detail and swift execution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into actionable development and delivery plans.
Display extreme ownership across every workstream, balancing business needs and engineering realities.
Market Insight
Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, market influencers and stakeholders to gather feedback, understand pain points, and validate product decisions.
Leverage customer insights to drive product enhancements, improvements, and product line extensions.
Metrics - you will be responsible for user engagement, product adoption, and revenue growth, and will be in charge of analyzing and interpreting data to ensure our product is meeting client and leadership requirements.
Go-to-Market Strategy
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to support development and execution of effective go-to-market strategies.
Ensure the successful launch of new products and features, including the development of marketing collateral and sales enablement tools.
Requirements
Proven experience (8+ years) in Product Management, preferably in the cybersecurity industry.
Proven ability to manage the roadmap for a revenue generating software product through experience in all areas of the product lifecycle from idea to launch.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, threat landscapes, and industry best practices.
Familiarity with product and project management software, such as JIRA and AHA!
