Description
- Lead and oversee all aspects of federal government construction projects, from pre-construction to closeout, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and budgets.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including federal agencies, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other team members to establish project goals, priorities, and expectations.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring timely project milestones, deliveries, and completion deadlines are met.
- Implement rigorous project controls, monitoring progress, budget, and quality, and promptly addressing any deviations from the plan.
- Navigate and remain current with federal procurement regulations, FAR clauses, and other compliance requirements specific to government projects.
- Manage and review subcontractor contracts, negotiate terms, and oversee their work to ensure alignment with project goals and contractual obligations.
- Foster strong relationships with federal agency representatives, demonstrating effective communication and problem-solving to address concerns and maintain project momentum.
- Provide accurate and timely project reporting to senior management, highlighting project status, potential risks, and recommended mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the preparation of project documentation, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information) to ensure accurate record-keeping and facilitate effective communication.
- Promote a culture of safety on project sites, implementing and enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project management, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing federal government projects.
- In-depth knowledge of federal procurement regulations, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) clauses, and experience navigating the complexities of government contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
