Job Description:
Back Plant Operator - 2 on, 2 off, 5 on, 5 off (12 hour shifts) 5:00am - 5:00pm; Alternating Days/Nights

the Back Plant Operator will work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the direction from the Control Room Operator. This full-time position rotates between the back plant operation and crane operation during the shift. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The smooth, safe and efficient operation of the Crane and monitoring proper pit management

Performing daily crane preventative maintenance and checks

Operation/maintenance of the residue equipment, general housekeeping issues associated with the equipment.

Duties also include safe and efficient operation of the assigned equipment in accordance with established plant operating procedures.

Other tasks may be assigned by the Shift Supervisors as deemed necessary.

Position Requirements:

HS Diploma/GED is required.

Willingness to work a 12 hour shift, rotating nights/days on a monthly basis, including every other weekend and holidays.

The facility operates 7 days per week/365 days of the year. Overtime is available during scheduled outages, PTO coverages, etc.

At least one year previous experience with high pressure boilers, electric generating equipment and the operation of heavy industrial equipment.

Formal technical or utility training is preferred.

The ability to walk/stand for long periods of time, work in close quarters and Confined Space with full-face respirators, climb ladders and structures, tolerate heights, and tolerate extreme temperatures is key.

Individual will be required to complete the necessary training in order for him/her to operate equipment.

Individual will also assist the other operators during upset or any non-typical conditions as they arise during shift.
