Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr System Engineer to join our team to i nstall, configur e , test, and maintain operating systems applications at satellite facilities in the Virginia , Maryland , DC area supporting l a rg e sc a le government programs . As a Sr Systems Engineer you wi ll collaborate and work closely with Software D evelopers to create and install software and assist with c o ding , testing , sy s tem rev i ew s , and compiling scripts. You will also work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to de ploy , maintain , and ensure successful software operation at satellite facilities to meet Program requirements. This position requires 25% on-site time in King George VA and travel in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering , or a related field or applicable work experience . - Secret security clearance . - Eight years of Sr System s Engineer experience , preferably in the government sector . - Excellent written and verbal communication skills . - Ability to relate to and understand customer needs in order to build relationships and drive customer success . - Excellent communication, computer, and analytical skills . Desired Certifications: - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer - VMware C ertified Professional 5 - Software Engineering Master Certification - Amazon Web Services Certified DevOps Engineer Responsibilities: - Collaborat e with development teams and program leadership to plan and execute deployment strategies and timelines . - Manag e software versioning and ensur e proper code repository maintenance . - Implement automation tools and scripts for efficient and consistent deployments. - Conduct thorough testing to verify functionality and compatibility of deployed software . - Monitor live deployments, identify issues, and provid e timely resolutions to minimize downtime . - Maintain detailed documentation of deployment processes and configurations. As a Sr System Engineer , you will play a pivotal role i n bridging the g a p between software development and operation s by providing a s eamless transition from co d ing to real world use . You will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, interacting with various stakeholders to deploy software application s and updates ensuring they function properly at satellite facilities .
