We are hiring immediately for a Windows System Administrator for our Herndon, VA office. In order to be considered for this position, applications must hold a TS/SCI security clearance from the United States government. In this role, you will be responsible to provide computer support services to users in all areas of the company, focusing on spaces requiring a clearance within the established service level agreements. While this position will focus on backend support of servers, virtualization, and other data center specialties, some portion of time will be spent addressing various technical incidents and problems, work with various types of software, and supporting PC hardware/peripherals, and other various tasks associated with end user readiness and support as needed. Maintain servers and desktops by performing regular patching, vulnerability remediation. Create GOLD images with appropriate OS hardening applied, leveraging the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Security Content Application Protocol (SCAP) scans. Assist other engineers as needed to share and gain knowledge of the environment. Minimum Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current/active Top Secret clearance and be willing and able to obtain an SCI with CI Poly Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in Windows Server Administration Current IAT Level II certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE) or the willingness and ability to receive within 6 months of employment Ability to support infrequent travel to other corporate sites as required. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Windows Server Administration and Active Directory Administration Experience with Microsoft SCCM or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager Virtual Platform experience (VMWare, HyperV) Strong organization and time-managements skills Strong knowledge of Windows 10, PCs (hardware and software), MS Office Applications Networking and Networking protocol (DHCP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, etc.) knowledge Cross-platform experience (i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSC, UNIX, IRIX, etc.) Data center knowledge or experience (power, cooling, rack configuration, low voltage wiring) In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all of our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $78,000.00 - $166,000.00 annually.
