Our client is on the hunt for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team of tech wizards! If you're a Java genius with a passion for geoserver technologies and pipeline integration, this is the perfect role for you. What You'll Do: Lead the charge in migrating and updating codebases from Java 8 to Java 17, making everything more flexible and efficient. Integrate and deploy backend pipelines using Jenkins across multiple environments. Work your magic with geoserver to handle geospatial data and ensure everything runs smoothly. Collaborate with teams to optimize performance, maintain databases, and streamline backend infrastructure. Ensure seamless integration and communication between backend systems and other components within the operational infrastructure. Qualifications: Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access and a willingness to get a CI Polygraph. Citizenship: US Citizenship required. Experience: 12 years in backend engineering, with strong expertise in Java (especially migrating from Java 8 to Java 17). Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (4 years of extra experience can substitute for a degree). Skills: Hands-on experience with pipeline integration and deployment using Jenkins. Proficiency with geoserver and geospatial data integration. Familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Bonus Skills: Experience with NiFi configuration, workflow development, and deployment. Experience with cloud infrastructures and integrating backend systems in hybrid cloud environments. Proficiency in Python for scripting, data processing, and automation tasks. Understanding of machine learning pipelines and their integration into backend systems. Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment in multi-environment systems. Ability to guide teams in adopting and optimizing backend technologies for large-scale operations.
