Job description

R- Description The Leidos team supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy has an opening for a Data Analyst. This is a Remote position. Leidos supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Operational Energy) (SAF/IEN) with project management and policy support subject matter experts. Each year about $9B, or 7-8% of the Air Force budget has gone to purchase energy. Approximately 86%, or $7.2B, is operational energy (aviation fuel). The Air Force Operational Energy Program vision is to Create an energy optimized Air Force that maximizes combat capability for the warfighter. Active or eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate, consolidate, and maintain SAF/IEN's operational aviation energy data and analysis capability in support of the Mission Execution Excellence Program (MEEP), an aviation fuel savings incentive program
Support data collection and consolidation, exploratory data analysis and operations research, cost/benefit analysis, support of software development projects, and monitoring and measurement of project performance.
Capture and compile requisite data for aviation metrics and perform analysis to determine best course of action for aviation energy efficiencies
Build relevant data dashboards for near real-time feedback of performance in accordance with program objectives
Develop and assess aviation energy metrics to discover opportunities for energy savings measures
Provide technical input regarding software projects and initiatives supported by the operational energy program Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years' applicable experience
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Familiar with data ingestion and analysis tools, particularly cloud-based tools such as Trifacta, Databricks, and related large scale data structures Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with the USAF and/or Department of Defense
Familiarity with general aviation-related concepts and/or military aviation
Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik and Tableau Original Posting Date: 2024-08-30

Pay Range: Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
