Job description

Duties Plans, organize, manage, and provide technical expertise during development, initiation, and execution of all aspects of deployment process modernization. Assists ACOMs, and ASCCs in the development of TTP's, SOP's, and related operational documents for the implementation of theater distribution and deployment automation systems. Serves as a Transportation Systems Specialist with emphasis on theater distribution and deployment automation systems in the Deployment Information System - Future Branch of the Deployment Process Modernization Office (DPMO). Provides expertise for operational testing, fielding, and unit deployments with various automated systems to include Transportation Coordinators' Automated Information for Movement System and Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES). As a project office independently organizes, collects, consolidates, analyzes, and validates total Army deployment and redeployment automation support requirements. Initiates staff action and correspondence resulting from outcomes in meeting and conferences. Develops options and alternatives on DoD theater distribution and deployment processes and automation support systems for consideration at the Joint General Officer level. Understands the Army deployment process doctrine and procedures, and articulate Army deployment requirements to the Joint community. Incumbent provides Army input at Joint Service Conferences, joint service working groups and other committees dealing with DoD deployment automated systems. Attends technical, professional, and scientific meetings and conferences to present or establish the DPMO position on behalf of the Chief of Transportation. Keeps abreast of new developments or improvements pertaining to theater distribution and deployment activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
