Job description

TIAG is now hiring a Junior Network Engineer to support our team at the Army Medical Readiness Command, East (MRC, East) located at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days/week onsite. Responsibilities include: Provide assistance with all aspects of network management from network design through implementation and upgrading of existing networks. Analyze network characteristics, including traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput, troubleshoot problems, and recommend procurement of, and modifications to, network components Communicate effectively with the client to identify needs Works with clients to review and analyze network infrastructure and develop solutions that meet or exceed business goals for system availability, stability, security, and agile growth Create network documentation required to support the IT infrastructure Analyze, evaluate, review and develop solutions to address challenges to implementation Contribute to the development of work plans, meeting changing needs and requirements. Establish and maintain close working relationships with project stakeholders Effectively communicate relevant information to superiors Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change. Physically unmount or mount networking gear into racks. Create front equipment drawings, develop SOPs, and create network diagrams. Required qualifications: DoD Secret Clearance required to start Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science OR a related field desired One year of prior experience related to network design and administration Minimum certification as IAT Level II per DoD 8570.01 (security+) Ability to obtain CCNA within 90 days of start date Knowledge of Network Protocols and OS (OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, BGP, TCP/IP, etc.) Knowledge of VPN, firewalls, IPS, load balancing, Cisco Access Points and Controllers Windows server experience desired Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones Strong team player with proven experience and ability to collaborate internally among teams and externally among application and business units Extremely self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail TIAG is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer that does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state, or federal laws, rules, or regulations.
