Job description
Amyx is seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler for a full-time virtual work position to support the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The Acquisition/Scheduling Management Analyst acts as an Acquisition & Scheduling Subject Matter Expert for advice and assistance on all matters related to supporting a Business System Category (BCAT) I Defense Business System and in maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The individual should have experience developing presentation materials for senior leadership; be a highly organized project scheduler to implement and oversee project schedules as well as; provide program language for the annual budget justification. The Acquisition/Scheduling Management Analyst will incorporate lifecycle activities into the IMS, identify and document project management processes and SOPs; and develop metrics for measuring project performance. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with project managers, setting scheduling tasks, and monitoring the execution of project timelines. The candidate will also prepare project progress and performance evaluation reports. Responsibilities The Senior Project Scheduler will be responsible for managing all contract staff activities related to the task, including: Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective scheduling management system.
Coordinating project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Monitoring project timelines and deadlines.
Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating intervention in a timeous manner.
Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports.
Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules.
Recommending actions to keep projects within budget and completed on time.
Keeping stakeholders informed of project timelines and deadlines.
Documenting project scheduling processes and maintaining records.
Support by providing strategic directions and objectives recommendations for the program, include development and recommendation of dynamic key business elements such as: Technology Enhancement
Program organizations and communications, functions, and staffing
Program schedule updates
Recommended enhancements to risk management, testing, deployment, and training
Support the client in preparing for reviews to include: Authorization to Proceed (ATP) Reviews
In-progress reviews (IPRs)
Integrated Product team meeting (IPTs)
Site Assessments
Office the Secretary of Defense (OSD) reporting requirements
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) reviews
Government Accounting Office (GAO) reviews
Department of Defense-Inspector General (DoD-IG) reviews
Support the client in reporting various DLA, DoD and Federal Organizations
Provide Acquisition reports as needed to OSD
Strong understanding of IMSs, schedule dependencies and critical path analysis.
Strong ability to analyze impact of delays and major schedule changes.
Strong ability to problem-solve and provide recommendations for corrective actions to keep projects within scope and on time.
Strong ability to create and brief Program Managers and Senior Leadership on Program schedule status Strong understanding of sequencing, dependencies, critical-paths and milestones. Strong ability to effectively interface and communicate with other internal team members and external stakeholders to gather inputs, provide status, etc.
Strong ability to coordinate, participate and facilitate planning meetings and reviews with internal team members and external stakeholders
Strong ability to work independently
Strong working knowledge and use of MS Office products to include MS Project & MS Teams
Must have good working knowledge of MS Project and be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders and report progress in meetings and daily standups.
Lead all IMS efforts; Provide planning support and make recommendations regarding Product Roadmap, Product Backlog, and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Provide experience with the methodology and have a proven track record of success in using it to manage similar projects. Coordinate activities with DLA, affected Authorized Users, and affected Third Party Contractors. Qualifications A minimum of five years' experience as a project scheduler in a related industry.
Proficient in Milestone Professional (KIDASA Software) Experience and ability to effectively direct and manage staff involved in multiple, complex, and interrelated financial management project tasks.
Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software, MS Projects.
Extensive experience in schedule planning and management.
In-depth knowledge of the scope of projects within the industry.
Advanced ability to evaluate project progress and facilitate interventions.
Ability to keep stakeholders informed of project timelines and changes.
A minimum of five years' experience in DoD Acquisition and Planning, Programming, Budget Execution (PPBE).
Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
Possess a current Secret clearance IT -2 or NACLC, or Level 3 Investigation Desired Skills and Qualifications: DoD 5000 experience
PMP Certified
