Job Summary

At Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, we are looking for dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team for the night shift. Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients, monitoring vital signs and assessing patient conditions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including catheterization and gastric lavage when necessary.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide pain management strategies tailored to each patient's needs.
Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
Assist in the care of pediatric patients when required, demonstrating experience in infant care and senior care settings.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the ICU environment.

Skills
Proficient in catheterization techniques and other critical nursing procedures.
Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of pain management practices.
Ability to provide compassionate home care for patients transitioning from hospital to home settings.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in patient documentation and care delivery.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor in high-stress situations.

Qualifications
Critical care experience
Cardiac catheterization skills
Proficiency in Epic and EMR systems
Ability to perform catheterization and IV insertion
Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills
Experience in pain management and senior care
Excellent communication skills for patient care and documentation
Familiarity with home & community care and ICU settings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.75 - $62.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
