Junior Accountant Location: Fairfax, VA, on-site Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance We are looking for a responsible, responsive, and highly motivated Junior Accountant to support the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the junior accountant's day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers with attention to detail. This role does not require work experience in all of these areas but a willingness to learn and a tenacious attitude about the role and work. Please be aware that many of our positions require the ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship This role will be on-site in Fairfax, VA This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: Dependable Takes initiative Adaptable/flexible Detail-oriented Autonomous/Independent Innovative Responsibilities The NASK Accountant is responsible for processing Vendor Payment Requests, Employee Expense Reports, Asset Management and Purchase Order Invoices Incumbent reviews and audits the payment requests for compliance with corporate procurement and authorization policies All employee reimbursements and vendor payments must be processed timely and accurately The incumbent is responsible for completing G/L account reconciliations, identifying 1099 applicable vendors, applying appropriate sales and use taxes, researching and resolving vendor inquiries, assisting employees with expense report reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end accruals, maintaining accurate vendor files and other projects as assigned Follow Corporate and Accounts Payable Internal Control Procedures Review and audit payables for compliance with policies Customer Service, Research & Problem Solving Assist employees and vendors Complete vendor inquiries and perform research as requested Analyze Expenses and perform G/L Account Reconciliations Set up month and year-end accruals Determine if general ledger account numbers requested are accurate Skills: SQL statements Excel: able to produce and analyze accounting reports Excellent organizational abilities Great attention to detail Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen Good understanding of accounting Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and familiarity BS/BA in accounting, finance, or a relevant field Detail-oriented quality and precision-focused Team-oriented cooperative and collaborative Who we are: Our people are the core of who we are and what we do.
