Our programs support multiple Federal agencies, including the Department of Defense. We are seeking a Data Scientist to support our customer's operations in Dahlgren, Virginia. This effort provides our Government customer with software support services. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret Clearance. Responsibilities: Support the discovery of patterns and trends in datasets to uncover insights Create algorithms and data models to forecast outcomes Use machine learning techniques to improve the quality of data or product offerings Deploy data tools for data analysis Qualifications Essential Requirements: US Citizenship Active Secret Clearance Required Experience: Minimum four (4) years since award of Bachelor's degree, or Minimum two (2) years since award of Master's degree Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing data analytics, data cleaning, data processing algorithm development, or data visualization Experience working with tools such as Python, R, Jupyter Notebook, Tableau, SAS, SQL and other data analysis tools Education and Certifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science Per DoD Directive 8570.01-M or successor, this position requires Information Assurance technical (IAT) Level 2. (DoD 8570.01-M is being phased out in favor of DoD 8140. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand, and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to workstation. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and the public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
