Work Schedule: Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday 30-minute lunch Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Occasionally- Up to 1/3 of the time.

Advertised Salary: Starts at $24.44/hourly; Depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Description: The purpose of the position is to provide logistical support for the fire department's pharmacy program and ensure compliance with a wide range of state and federal guidelines and requirements. This position maintains strict documentation, ensures that stations and apparatus are stocked with the necessary medications and supplies, and ensures the system is operated effectively and efficiently.
TYPICAL TASKS
- Checks quantity and quality of inventory items received against invoices and reports discrepancies; unpacks and stores schedule drugs and materials in accordance with 18VAC110-20-710; enters inventory into database.
- Performs inventory as required by the Code of Virginia.
- Delivers and retrieves Schedule II through VI drugs, supplies, and materials.
- Restocks shelves and cleans storeroom as required.
- Performs routine tasks, such as recordkeeping, data entry, report preparation, supplies maintenance, faxing, phoning, emailing, and copying.
- Orders replacement of controlled substances, pharmaceuticals, and intravenous fluids.
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicle, consisting of washing the outside and cleaning the inside. Checks vehicle for operational problems, and schedules maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires High School Diploma or GED / HSE and formal training, special courses, or self-education equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in EMS , paramedical, pharmacy, or a closely related field. Associates degree is preferred.
Experience: In additional to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of one-year full time (or equivalent) Advanced Life Support experience at the EMT -Paramedic level with an emergency medical services agency (911 response).
Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards . Current Virginia Paramedic certification.
Special Requirement(s): Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
Preferred Qualifications: Virginia Paramedic Certification is REQUIRED .
