Labor Category: Software Engineer Position Title: Software Engineer Position Level: All Levels Salary: Up to $260,000.00 per year Core Hours: 9am to 4pm Location: Chantilly VA Description: Position Requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with a Polygraph. The Customer requires support to design, build, and deploy a bi-directional AWS API Gateway capable of sending and pulling data from various source systems over a secure network. The Candidate will work closely with over forty interface partners across different organizations and agencies, in defining interface requirements, building a to-be architecture, performing comprehensive system testing, and ultimately, deploying an integrated internal and external facing API Gateway across two different agencies on the same classification network. This project is part of an overall Customer effort to migrate portions or all of payroll systems to a new-shared service provider. Priorities will be managed by the designated Government Technical Manager (GTM). Work Requirements: Software Engineering: 1. The Candidate shall plan, design, and develop a cloud-based AWS API Gateway capable of moving data from multiple source systems to a shared service provider. 2. The Candidate shall work with the Customer's engineering team to identify and implement a cloud-based solution for the API gateway. 3. The Candidate shall use APIs to design Representational State Transfer (REST) services and integrate them with existing data providers using JSON, XML or other software. 4. The Candidate shall design, develop, and implement scalable, elastic micro services based platforms. 5. The Candidate shall dissect existing Java applications. 6. The Candidate shall develop micro services for specific system functionality. 7. The Candidate shall provide technical guidance to less senior developers. 8. The Candidate shall develop detailed program specifications, design, and interface control documents. 9. The Candidate shall design, develop, and brief technical strategies. 10. The Candidate shall provide technical guidance and coordination across multiple development teams to meet project objectives. Software Quality Assurance with Application Testing: 1. The Candidate shall review and analyze documentation to create detailed test plans, procedures, and Requirements Verification Traceability Matrixes (RVTM) to support testing activities. 2. The Candidate shall test the consumption of external APIs or data as it passes through the gateway. 3. The Candidate shall work collaboratively with partners to plan, coordinate, and conduct test activities. 4. The Candidate shall investigate and create discrepancy reports. 5. The Candidate shall perform thorough system, interface, user acceptance, and regression testing.
