Responsibilities Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with Digital Signal Processors (DSP) technical experience to provide high-end Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to join our team of technical and business experts providing operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a classified customer in Chantilly, Virginia. The ideal candidate should possess familiarity with DSP algorithm development, implementation, and optimization and have the ability to interpret and communicate DSP technical data and test results. Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/Operation and Maintenance (O&M). In this role you will be responsible for supporting our clients, meet their mission goals and strategic objectives by providing high-quality Systems Engineering and technical leadership expertise for design, development, evaluation of end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their full development and operational life cycle. In addition, you will provide essential support to Project Management for risk identification and mitigation and keeping the project on schedule and within budget. Provide support for business development activities to help shape requirements and participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to: Work closely with customer to develop and implement systems or ideas from initial concept to final operation, ensuring alignment with mission requirements, objectives, and timelines.
Collaborate with customer organization to generate product specifications and requirements and provide technical oversight during the acquisition phase.
Independently generate engineering documents and diagrams, such as: System Requirements Documents, Statement of Work, CONOPS, Vulnerability Assessments, and Test Plans.
Work with product developers (generally prime contractors) to ensure that products/systems are developed to customers requirements, budget, and timeline. Provide resolution of technical aspects between customer and developers.
Plan and execute field testing exercises.
Perform hands-on functional testing of end-to-end systems.
Oversee product milestones, acceptance testing and product sell-off/acceptance reviews.
Travel to support operations.Travel Requirements Domestic travel up to 1 week/month maximum. This role requires the candidate to perform duties on-site Mon-Fri. Qualifications Required Qualifications: An Active/current TS/SCI with an active Polygraph.
A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 12 years of relevant experience; or a Masters degree and 10 years of relevant experience; or a PhD and seven (7) years of relevant experience.
Familiarity and experience DSP algorithm development, implementation, and optimization.
Ability to interpret and communicate DSP technical data and test results.
Proficient in various signal processing techniques, such as filtering, Fourier analysis, and digital modulation.
Familiarity and experience with C, C++, MatLab, Python and simulation tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Able to lead technical presentations, write technical reports, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness and ability to travel.Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced familiarity with DSP algorithm development, implementation, and optimization.
Able to review complex DSP algorithms, provide input to optimize existing code for performance, and implement software development best practices.
Familiar with machine learning techniques.
Prior experience as a SETA.
Ability to work within and across multi-discipline teams to ensure interfaces are thoroughly defined, properly designed, and correctly implemented.
Familiarity with Intelligence Community (IC) organizations and experience working across multiple organizations within the IC.
Experience in mission operation centers, command and control, and digital communications is a plus.
Familiarity with Customer finance and acquisition systems and process.Salary Range Estimates: The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
