Job description

Description SAIC is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to support an enterprise SATCOM program. The candidate must be detail oriented and motivated, understand satellite communications system fundamentals and principles and be able to perform engineering analyses and document results in support of operational activities and test equipment deployments. Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/operations & maintenance/O&M). Job duties include, but are not limited to: Ability and willingness to attain competence in the use of a set of customer tools used for researching, planning, and tasking of SATCOM activities along with tools used in support of system performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Support to testing and integration of waveforms/devices in lab and operational environments, informed by acquired specific knowledge of user concepts of operation, equipment, end to end connectivity, etc. Day-to-day test and operational support to include a variety of SATCOM related activities, e.g., lab test support, end-to-end device and waveform integration, performance of spectral surveys to enable frequency selection recommendations, etc. Support to SATCOM system users in the field to include timely technical support and troubleshooting. System performance monitoring and characterization along with associated troubleshooting an/or optimization. Support to new electronic device technologies and software defined radio (SDR) developments. Qualifications Requirements : Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph. BS in engineering, computer systems, or relevant technical area and 2+ years as a systems engineer. 2+ years SATCOM experience. CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required Understanding of satellite communications fundamentals and principles. Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and effectively and to execute assignments. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
