Job description

TIAG is hiring a Senior Software Developer to join our team in Arlington, VA supporting the Office of Naval Research (ONR). This position will be expected to report onsite up to 3 days per week in Arlington, VA. The position requires a Secret clearance, so US or Naturalized Citizenship is a requirement. The Senior Software Developer will lead the effort on developing an enterprise Portfolio Data System (PDS) to full operating capability (FOC) for the ONR. PDS will provide enterprise financial visibility of the Science and Technology (S&T) portfolios at both the ONR Leadership and Project Officer levels. Key Responsibilities: Leads the design and development of complex software solutions, providing technical direction and oversight throughout the development lifecycle. Defines and implements software architecture and design patterns that meet business needs and technical requirements. Evaluates and recommends tools, technologies, and processes to improve development efficiency and product quality. Writes high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code. Lead by example, ensuring that code reviews and quality assurance practices are adhered to. Identifies and resolves complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and bugs. Optimizes software for performance, scalability, and security. Works closely with the project manager, product owners, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines. Identifies potential risks and issues related to software development and implements mitigation strategies. Ensures the PDS project is delivered with minimal disruptions. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field 10+ years of professional experience in software development with a proven track record of successfully delivering multiple software projects through the full software lifecycle. At least 3 years as a lead developer. Technical Skills: Extensive experience with software design patterns, architecture, and best practices. Experience with Agile methodologies, project management tools, and practices. Demonstrated expertise in developing software applications using C#, Java, SQL, and Javascript. Experience developing/testing web applications using HTML, jQuery, Bootstrap, XML, JSON, JavaScript, CSS. Experience with API development. Experience with modern development frameworks and tools (e.g., .Net Core, ASP.Net, Identity framework, Entity framework, MVC (Model, View, Controller), Blazor, Fluentui). Experience with database management (SQL Server) and data modeling. Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Experience with AWS Cloud Native Services, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Elastic Container Registry, Elastic Container Service, Elastic Kubernetes Service Familiarity with DISA application development STIGs and well versed in DOD information assurance policies and regulation Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate a development team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality and efficient solutions. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
