Responsibilities: Syntelligent is seeking a Security Specialist, Operations (Mid) to support upcoming work with a federal client in Crystal City, VA. Qualified candidate will be expected to provide general security functions that includes performing activities related to security standard discipline management and support. Tasks and duties include: Conduct and assist with security incident inquiries Track and provide trend analysis on reported security incidents Provide incident matrix to the Director of Security (DS) and Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO) Recommend classification determinations prior to inquiry initiation Monitor inquiry progress, provide status updates to the GSSO, and draft appropriate reports before, during, and after inquiry Participate in containment and clean-up actions and document results Maintain the Security Incident Guide in coordination with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) Ensure personnel are notified of the initial incident in accordance with (IAW) policy Assess and optimize security processes, including automation, for a rapidly growing program to ensure consistent security support, and produce products resulting from this analysis Identify program requirements through review and analysis of user needs and produce products resulting from this analysis Identify emerging threats and produce products resulting from this analysis Conduct special security studies and produce products resulting from these studies Qualifications: Required: A Bachelor's degree in a security related discipline along with three (3) years of experience in a security related field OR An Associate degree plus seven (7) years of work experience in a security related field OR Nine (9) years of work experience in a security related field SAP OR Special Access Program experience Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long-periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally. Mental Requirements: Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice. Clearance Level Required: TS/SCI /SAR Online applications, please. The salary ranges for this position will be in the 73-75K per year range, this will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
